Alison Bellevue earned her Psy.D. in School-Clinical Child Psychology from Yeshiva University, Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. Prior to entering her doctoral program, Dr. Bellevue earned an M.S.Ed. from Long Island University with a specialization in adolescent special education. She graduated cum laude from Barnard College, earning a B.A. in psychology and human rights.
Dr. Bellevue's extensive training and experience distinguishes her as an expert within the field of developmental psychology. Dr. Bellevue's particular areas of expertise include, providing CBT to children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a wide range of mental health symptoms and providing Comprehensive DBT to adolescents and adults. In addition, Dr. Bellevue has extensive experience working with parents, specializing in Parent Management Training (PMT) and DBT for parents.
Dr. Bellevue acted as the Director of Middle School Services and then the Director Child and Family Services at CBT/DBT Associates, a group private practice in Manhattan. Throughout her career, Dr. Bellevue has provided supervision in CBT and DBT to graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and early-career clinical psychologists. Prior to her psychology career, Dr. Bellevue was a middle school special education teacher in Brooklyn, NY, which places her in a unique position to collaborate with schools and provide consultation services.
Dr. Bellevue strongly believes in the importance of work-life balance and strives to obtain and maintain the right balance for herself. When not practicing clinical psychology and running a small business, she enjoys hiking and camping, reading, baking, impromptu dance parties, and spending time with her friends and family, particularly her inquisitive 4-year-old.
